Privacy Policy
- On your device. Recipes, My Bar, favorites, taste profile and age check stay in local storage. We don’t run user accounts.
- No ads, no tracking SDKs. We don’t sell your data or ship advertising/analytics SDKs.
- Adults 21+ in the US (or the legal drinking age where you live). An age gate runs first. Your birthdate is checked on device; we don’t keep the birthdate, only that you passed.
Lumibar is a cocktail recipe and home-bar app from Tucker Hensel. Contact: tuckerahensel@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
Age-gate result, My Bar, favorites, taste-quiz answers, unit preference, optional ZIP for shopping suggestions, local pour logs, and your bar log (drinks you finished making, your star ratings and quick tags, and the taste profile learned from them). Clearing or uninstalling the app removes them. We don’t sync this to our servers. The only exception is the AI features below.
AI features (bottle scan and AI Bartender)
Bottle scan and AI Bartender only run when you tap them. For a bottle scan, the photo you take or choose (with location and other photo metadata removed) is sent to our server and then to Google’s Gemini API to recognize the bottles. For AI Bartender, your My Bar list and your answers to its questions (including any theme you give a new drink, or food or cigar you ask it to pair with) are sent the same way so it can suggest or create a drink. Once you’ve rated a few drinks, a short taste summary goes with those requests (flavor leanings such as “less sweet”, liked or disliked ingredients, and library drinks you rated low so they aren’t suggested again). It contains no drink history, dates, names or anything that identifies you; your log and ratings themselves never leave your device, and Reset taste learning in Your bar log turns it off until you rate a few more. Lumibar doesn’t save your photos or chats. Google processes these requests under its API terms.
To limit abuse, our server (hosted on Supabase) keeps a random ID for this install and a count of recent AI requests. It isn’t linked to your name, email or account. You’ll be asked for camera or photo access only when you start a scan, and you can turn it off in iOS Settings at any time.
What we don’t collect
No account email or password, no precise location, no contacts, no microphone access, no camera or photo access unless you start a bottle scan, and no Bluetooth scale connection yet (Guided Pour uses an on-device simulated scale).
Shopping links
“Order now” may open third-party sites (for example Instacart or Amazon search) in your browser under their own policies. Lumibar does not complete affiliate checkout for you in this beta.
Updates and hosting
Native apps may receive JavaScript updates via Expo EAS Update. This website is hosted on Expo EAS Hosting. Those providers process technical logs as needed to operate the service.
Children
Lumibar is for adults 21+ in the US, or the legal drinking age where you live, and is not directed at children.
